Occupying a perfect position within Barcelona’s sought after Eixample district, this apartment is ideally situated close to a number of delightful cafes, fine restaurants and charming shops. The neighbourhood was originally created in the late 1800s and was designed by the architect Ildefons Cerda, whose aim was to provide an area filled with green, open spaces and wide, tree-lined avenues which offered a welcome alternative to the busy and overcrowded streets of the city centre. Nowadays, the Eixample district is renowned for its fascinating collection of modernist architecture and well-known landmarks.
One such landmark is the impressive La Sagrada Familia, which can be found literally minutes away from the apartment. Regarded as Barcelona’s top tourist attraction, this stunning place of worship is an attraction not to be missed. Dating back to the late 1800s, and still surprisingly a work in progress, La Sagrada Familia was designed by Antoni Gaudi – a famous, local architect whose fabulous work can be found throughout this wonderful city. Once completed, the basilica will showcase eighteen magnificent towers which are dedicated to several prominent religious figures.
