This apartment is located just minutes on foot from Plaça de Catalunya, a large square considered to be the centre of Barcelona. Here the districts of Ciutat Vella (Old City) and Eixample meet. These two districts are very different from each other but both must be seen on any trip to the city. The Old City is home to amazing medieval and gothic architecture while the Eixample was constructed in the last 150 years. The Eixample neighbourhood is well known for its wide streets in the typical grid layout which is much different from the narrow maze like streets of the Old City. The Old City is home to El Born where you will find some of the city's trendiest cafes, restaurants, bars and boutiques. Here you can shop, eat, drink and people watch all in an amazing setting. The Old City is also home to the popular Picasso Museum and Textiles Museum. Both of these are must visits for anyone interested the early work of Picasso or fashion. The Eixample is where you will find some of most impressive works of Antoni Gaudi including La Pedrera, Casa Batllo and the Sagrada Familia. Each of these buildings is unique and you really cannot find anything like them in the rest of the world, let alone the city. The district is also home to many department stores, speciality shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. This apartment is in a fantastic location with many of Barcelona's attractions accessible on foot. Those a little further afield can easily be reached using the Metro.
