Aragon Terrace Apartment Barcelona |
|
The Aragon Terrace apartment is situated in the Eixample district just a few minutes’ walk from Girona metro station. To the immediate east lies El Raval, home of Las Ramblas, the craziest street in the whole country. Here you will find mimes, gift shops, all kinds of charming cafes and eateries and 24-hour newspaper stands as well as old-world shops with stunning original Art Nouveau architectural detail. Look out for the unusual bird sellers with their singing colourful caged birds. There’s definitely a real cross section of Catalan society as well as the international visitors here.
Follow La Ramblas all the way to the end and you will come to the Columbus Monument and Port Vell Marina. Port Vell is a popular zone for day and nightlife, containing an IMAX cinema, the incredible Barcelona Aquarium, several restaurants, bars and venues as well as an exclusive yacht harbour. At night, several buildings are illuminated in different colours, giving it an attractive appearance.
Take the metro south west to Univeristat station and take a short walk to MACBA (Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum). One of the top 10 tourist attractions in the city, this mammoth gallery offers you a chance to see some of the most interesting and internationally important art of the 20th century. Mainly featuring works form 1950 onwards you will find particularly European, Spanish and of course Catalonian artworks housed in this very striking white building designed by architect Richard Meier.
