Aragon 3B Apartment Barcelona

Share |

The Aragon 3B apartment sits in the Exiample district just north of the wonderful Juan Miro Park and west of Port Vel Marina. The nearest metro station, Urgell, is just a 5 minute walk away. From here you can access the whole city with great ease. Why not take a train north to see one of the most famous buildings in Catalonia, the Sagrada Familia. This immense temple of design and excess was designed originally by Gaudi. Under construction since 1882 it remains unfinished, with a further 30 to 80 years still to go! Don’t worry though as this is far more than a building site. A lot has been achieved in the last 125 years and Gaudi’s vision continues to grow, inspire and, for some, less than impress. Forever a controversial building, its apparent aesthetic beauty divides opinion. Some of us like it whilst others…don’t. Go and see it and decide for yourself. If you are feeling energetic, fearless of heights and don’t experience claustrophobia then why not take a trip up one of the many towers? You will be rewarded by magnificent views from the top.

If you are looking for some more artistic stimulus then head to the MACBA  - the Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum. The museum is just 15 minutes’ walk to the east form the apartment.  One of the top 10 tourist attractions in the city, this mammoth gallery offers you a chance to see some of the most interesting and internationally important art of the 20th century. Mainly featuring works form 1950 onwards you will find particularly European, Spanish and of course Catalonian artworks housed in this very striking white building designed by architect Richard Meier.
If you have a head for heights why not take the Telefèric de Montjuïc, a cable car ride across Port Vel marina to Montjuïc Mountain from where you’ll be able to enjoy the finest aerial views of Barcelona. Simply head to the coast line only a twenty minute walk away and explore the beach and nearby marina. At the southerly tip of the Barceloneta district at the end of the main road, Paseo Joan de Borbon, you will see a huge tower which is not only where you board the cable car ride but also the home of the famous and extremely lavish Torre de Alta Mar, a panoramic restaurant on the very top floor. Be sure to wave at the diners as you glide past the window.
