You will find the Aragon 2C apartment nestled in the Eixample district known for its grid-like streets and pretty courtyards. The Urgall metro station is only a few minutes walk away giving you instant access to the whole city with ease.

Take the metro north east to probably the most famous sight in Barcelona, the Sagrada Familia. Frankly everybody has an opinion on whether this is an attractive building or not. Gaudi’s incredible giant temple of design excess has been under construction since 1882 and believe it or not they don’t expect to finish it for another 30-80 years. Even though the Sagrada Familia is far from finished, this amazing landmark is well worth a visit. Don’t worry though, this is far more than a building site. A lot has been achieved in the last 125 years and Gaudi’s vision continues to grow, inspire and, for some, less than impress. Some people enthuse about its groundbreaking thinking-outside-the-box design whilst others simply detest it! It’s up to you of course to decide for yourself if it’s your cup of tea or not. Since this is a fully functioning church with daily services it is recommended to check opening times to avoid disappointment if you wish to explore the inside. You can also climb the towers. A lift and a very long walk will take you to the top and from there you have a truly magnificent view over Barcelona. The climb is not recommended for those with fear of heights or for people with claustrophobia!

Take the metro again to Villa Olympica and spend a fun afternoon at Barcelona Zoo. Located in the city park, Parc de la Ciutadella, it is ranked among the top zoos in Europe. The open enclosures are impressive and a clearly more humane way to contain the animals safely, whilst allowing you to almost touch them. The zoo’s most famous inhabitant was the world’s only known albino gorilla named Snowflake. Unfortunately he is no longer with us but there are hundreds of other exciting and interesting animals to meet at the zoo who will hopefully be as interested in you as much as Snowflake was interested in his visitors.
